Inauguration de la maquette du buste de Maurice GENEVOIX au Grand Palais \u00e0 Paris.<\/strong><\/p>

Le compte \u00e0 rebours a commenc\u00e9 pour notre grand projet.
Le sculpteur Virgil s\u2019est mis \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre, il pr\u00e9pare la \u00ab maquette \u00bb de la future sculpture en bronze du lieutenant Maurice Genevoix qui sera expos\u00e9e au Grand Palais de Paris \u00e0 partir du 4 d\u00e9cembre prochain.<\/p>

Ce buste a \u00e9t\u00e9 command\u00e9 par L\u2019Esparge afin que l\u2019auteur de \u00ab Ceux de 14 \u00bb trouve sa juste place au c\u0153ur du village des \u00c9parges.<\/p>

Qui n\u2019a pas lu les \u0153uvres de Maurice Genevoix ne peut pas comprendre la force de cette initiative dont nous sommes fiers.
L\u2019\u00e9crivain-combattant devenu Secr\u00e9taire perp\u00e9tuel honoraire de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise est mort en 1980 et repose dans le cimeti\u00e8re de Passy, \u00e0 Paris.
Cependant, en filigrane dans ses \u00e9crits, il a exprim\u00e9 un d\u00e9sir proche d\u2019un testament spirituel, \u00e0 savoir celui de rejoindre ses camarades tomb\u00e9s aux \u00c9parges auxquels il n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de penser tout au long de sa vie.
Dans un texte paru dans le Bulletin trimestriel des Revenants du 106\u00e8me R.I. en 1947, juste un an apr\u00e8s son entr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie fran\u00e7aise, voici ce qu\u2019il \u00e9crit :
\u00ab Une \u00e9p\u00e9e vous le savez on la porte deux fois. Une fois lors de la r\u00e9ception et une seconde fois sur le corbillard. Peut-\u00eatre ce jour-l\u00e0 la sentirai-je \u00e0 mon c\u00f4t\u00e9 au moment de retrouver ceux des \u00c9parges, morts \u00e0 20 ou 25 ans, (pensez \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9norme rabiot dont nous avons tous joui) et qui me diront : \u00ab C\u2019est toi mon vieux Genevoix. Entre quand m\u00eame, on te reconna\u00eet.<\/em> \u00bb
Fig\u00e9 dans sa tenue de lieutenant, tel qu\u2019il fut en cette tranche de vie \u00e0 laquelle ses souvenirs inlassablement l\u2019ont ramen\u00e9, Maurice Genevoix reviendra aux \u00c9parges.
Pour r\u00e9aliser ce projet, l’Association L’Esparge et \u00ab\u00a0Je me souviens de Ceux de 14\u00a0\u00bb, ont obtenu le soutien financier du Minist\u00e8re de la D\u00e9fense (DMPA) et du conseil G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Meuse. La communaut\u00e9 de communes de Fresnes en Wo\u00ebvre, la Commune des \u00c9parges et du Gal de l’Ouest (fonds leader), le Comit\u00e9 National du Souvenir de Verdun, l’Association \u00ab\u00a0Ceux de Verdun\u00a0\u00bb, du Club InnerWheel de la Meuse et de dons priv\u00e9s.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
